SRIII 63 Split-Window Chassis
The chassis finally made it to our shop, we are going to be thrashing on this, to get it rolling this week, so we can sit the body and get wheels ordered next week.
Its going to be a very cool project with quite a few unique custom touches.

I am, just now, finalizing mine with the ZL1 9.9 inch rear end. I will be interested to see what you go with for drive shaft. I went with "the drive shaft shop" making a dual CV joint 2.5 inch drive shaft. Good to see you guys doing such high quality pictures.

A little update...I havent posted an update on the 63 in a little while, but the wheels came in today and they are amazing!
The car is coming together nicely, and yes those are intercoolers.....

C2 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I know I am in a minority here but why if youre going to build such a high end resto mod would you not go with a high end chassis like roadster shop? The round tube chassis are cheaper for them to build and have a much lower resale value when the cars are done
then a high-quality ones?

To answer YOUR question, our tube chassis is well superior to any box chassis in many aspects. Additionally I'm advised it only adds value. Our's is a one off hand built Legacy Innovations unit, incorporating nemours Detroit Speed components. Additionally the Chassis enables the body to sit lower, compared to a Box Chassis.

65 Pro Vette,
I can assure you my decision on the chassis I used for the car was not based on the SRIII chassis being cheaper. I've been to Mike's shop and he builds one of the best chassis on the market. There are quite a few high end Chassis shops producing very nice chassis, each have their own identity. I believe the Roadster Shop chassis is the most expensive, which does not always translate to better or more valuable related to resale.
As for actual sales values, last year at Barrett-Jackson Joe's 58 Restomod sold for what I believe is a record sale of $400,000 with an Art Morrison chassis with straight axle.
My 58 Restomod was the second highest Corvette sale of $350,000 with a modified stock chassis with C4 suspension components.
My point is, if the car is built with high standards and done well and the quality is there, the value is going to be there.

Understanding: this is a "show car" and is never intended to be a "race car" , I'm curious what this Chassis Weighs .... or The frame weight?

From a rigidity perspective, I would much rather have the triangulated tubing design than just single square tubing. The larger square tubing will cost more in raw material form than round tube, but the man hours that go into building the SRIII probably brings the cost back into comparative levels.
The RS is no doubt better than the original GM frame, but I'm just curious what you're basing your classification of aftermarket frames on.

show car your referring to is the 63 split window with a twin turbo Gen V LT1, that will be putting down a little over 650 hp to the ground with all C7 grand sport suspension and brakes, with 8 speed auto and paddle shifters. If I was building a car for the track I would build it the same way just maybe without all the shiny expensive parts.

i am interested in those wheels...they are nice. Who makes them? But i doubt i could pull them off...i have, pretty much, the same chassis....looks like you have wider rear fenders...mine are stock....cant remeber if you said...are you using the ZL1 rearend? Anyway, your car is coming together really well.
