Default 51 years old today

Happy birthday to my ‘67. My wife got the card for the car. It plays a recording of a car revving up and doing a 1st gear and 2nd gear burnout. The card was especially meaningful to me since my wife just had rotator cuff surgery on Tuesday.

As I like to point out every year on this day, July 12, 1967 is an historical date for all C2 enthusiasts. It marks the end of an era. No more Sting Rays after today. Bring on the C3’s.

Thanks.

The heat pump pump is made by Daikin. It’s a 4-function unit (heat, cool, fan only, and humidity control). I don’t remember the BTU rating but it does a good job cooling my 4-car garage. The tech guy is coming tomorrow to do the annual service on the unit so I’ll ask him the BTUs.

Steve, when I see your car I see exactly what my '67 looked like from the factory. Celebrate! Dennis

So, if July 12, 1967 marks both your car's birthday and the last day of C2 production, how close to the end of the C2 production run is your car? (Great looking ride, BTW)

I’m sure you are aware that only 600 cars got the teal/blue tops. Apparently, a lot of people found them hideous back in ‘67 <LOL>

Well, maybe 2 of us. The wife still has a couple of days of recovery before she goes anywhere.

Thanks. My car’s VIN is 22861 out of 22940 I don’t know how many they could build in a day but I’m guessing my car was built early that day.

Here's my Mitsubishi "Mr. Slim" - installed in 2005 (cooling only, already had heat out there), 42,000-BTU, cools my 2500 sq. ft. garage with no problem. Scary quiet, too.

Steve,
I know you meant to type 22940. They produced 121 Corvettes on the last day of production.

Thanks for catching that. I fixed it.

So, it seems that there were 41 before mine and 79 after on that day.

Car number 22940 is a silver big block coupe that changed hands a while back for a sizeable amount of cash. Neither my car nor any of the others built that day are worth a nickel more than if they were built on any other day.

Thanks, Joe. Anne’s hanging in there. She has a long road ahead of her. But, she’s a trooper.

Thanks, Robert.

I thought about you the other day. The guy in the recovery room next to Anne had surgery for Carpal Tunnel. Hope you are doing well.
