What battery do you have
I bought my 58 4bbl 283 last year and it had a dead Exide Mega Torque Heatbeater 34-75 530 CA @ 32 degrees, 420 CCA @ 0 degrees and I need to replace it.
Just curious - what battery do you have in yours? Thanks

NAPA Legend batteries are good; there are still AC/Delco batteries that fit these cars if you want to get a few judging points for using an OEM brand...

Why pay more? Can't beat the price vs. the warranty. Exide battery.

Walmart. I got 16 years out of the Walmart battery in my '67 GTO and 15 years out of the Walmart battery in my '65 GTO. No trickle charging or coddling. Hard to beat that for $27.95. OF course, the same battery I put in my '61 Corvette in 2015 cost $118.....

That is why I used to buy WalMart batteries exclusively and also why I quit buying them.
I've bought a lot of WM batteries in the past and almost all of them lasted far longer than the warranty. Some twice as long as you report.

The cheapest on that fits that I can find. This is the result of one experience I had with a spendy reproduction battery.

I put an ACDelco Professional Gold series battery (700 CCA) in my ’67 over five years ago and it’s still going strong. No matter which battery you decide on, get one that fits your tray and will bolt in with no mods to the car or cutting of the battery.

Mike (and others) I've been using the RK batteries for years _ good stuff. But I just picked up one last week and they are different now. Still Exide but now boldly says Made in Korea. Not sure where the previous ones were made. The case is a little different too and it now has a green charge eye. Time will tell if it is as good as the last ones.

I just bought one with the green charge eye (actually I think it's electrolyte level...), first one I have seen since , I THINK, delco had one similar

They are a chain store like Tractor Supply. I don't think they are in California. Mostly eastern US. You can get them online and have them shipped.

Whatever Advance Auto sells. I've been w/them for more than a couple of decades for a half dozen cars. My '64 coupe's battery was over 9 years old, and it hesitated when the temperature went below freezing, this past winter, so, I replaced it. They all seem to last at least that long.

Interstate in both my 65 and 61. Got 11 years out of them on both cars. Replaced with the same.

Thanks for the heads up on the change in sourcing. I buy 3-4-5 of these batteries a year for various pieces of equipment. I haven't seen the green eye yet that Delco used to have that indicated state of charge.
I've been very happy with the service (for the money) I've gotten out of RK batteries in the last 7-8 years, ever since they opened a local store here.
