I am 64, 5' 11" and, um, not thin. I have no issues at all either getting in & out or driving my '62. I have the hardtop in place 90% of the time, and it is quieter and (in my opinion) offers a bit more headroom than the soft top does when up - also MUCH better visibility. I have kept the original 17" steering wheel, and I can see where a smaller wheel might be helpful as far as room is concerned - but these cars (stock) don't have power steering, and have that big wheel for a reason. Parking the car with a smaller wheel is a chore. The 1961 interior dimensions are pretty much the same, the years before that are a slightly tighter fit. My advice is to drive a few different cars and see how you feel about it. You're the only one who can decide. Good luck.

I'm almost 70 and had a 15" installed a few weeks ago. Makes getting in and so out much easier. Turning is a little tougher when stopped or barely moving, but it's not easy with 17" either. Just have to remember back to my high school days of driving 56, 57 and 58 chevy's, although they had ball joints they were still tough to parallel park. I don't park this car anywhere, except my garage and this is straight in and out.

I have a 15" steering wheel, which improves leg room, but does make turning, when stopped, a bit more of a chore. The trade off is well worth it though as you seldom have to parallel park. The biggest down side to a 15" wheel is, it makes it difficult to see the speedometer, without leaning forward. Wonder if I could use that as an excuse if I were to get a speeding ticket.

All of this talk of interior leg room and getting in and out of the C1 cars reminds me of a discussion that an acquaintance of mine and I had. He said that his current wife didn't like Corvettes because you couldn't uhhhh be intimate in them. Lol. I have yet to even sit in mine with seats in it, and It is pretty cramped just laying on your back with your legs hanging out the open door or over the waterfall into the gas tank area with your head up under the dash working on stuff under there............. I'm surprised the discussion hasn't already gone there, knowing this crew.

I can relate to that position under the dash . I couldn't tell you how many times I was under there . My wife would walk into the garage and say " When I come in here , all I see is feet "
