Please allow me to share the text that I received from Frank (also known to this Forum as "Frank The Tank" and "Knuckles") terrific daughter:
"So I drove to Columbus yesterday to see my dad. its about 2 hours. I stopped at a a bakery and bought him a piece of cake thinking it would make his day. we had one of those family meetings at 2 yesterday to determine what to do with dad.

I get to his room and hes gone.

He was taken out by a couple of your (and his) buddies! They rented a van and took him home! He got to sit on his back porch with his wife. And he got to see Hi Ho Silver in the Garage!
I dont know if you were instrumental in all this but know that the kindness of this overwhelms me. Thank you to you and everyone in your Corvette Forum ! Yall are living right!

thanks again Ray"

You three loons are terrific, great friends and outstanding assets to the Corvette Community ! Frank's family is very appreciative, this has been a very difficult time for them and even though Frank hasn't been on the Forum for awhile, you can check out his wit, his savvy technical advice and his penchant for mid-grade Scotch in the archives.

Ray

Default Cool running

Yes out cars can be driven at highway speeds without breaking. 2,000 miles 2,600 to 3,200 rpms for close to 40 hours on an original L-79...with over 300,000 miles...

Went to visit midyearvette yesterday afternoon and he was just starting a physical therapy session. Much to my surprise I saw Frank get out of his wheel chair with only the assistance of a semi walker. He went on to walk down the hallway with the walker and a therapist holding on to a strap around Frank's chest in case he should fall forward. Frank has a long way to go, but he is making progress.

There are two threads now about midyearvette. At any rate, some CF members will be visiting him tomorrow driving there in their corvettes.

Best wishes to FRANK. Been through this all in my immediate family and it's a tough recovery but a tough guy like Frank will make it happen. If I was closer I would gladly stop by and lay 50' of posi scratches in the parking lot.

Been living through a stroke recovery for 4 1/2 years. Keep at it Frank. FWIW, I felt much better as soon as I stopped taking muscle relaxers.

They did that with Frank and his speech dramatically improved.

My wife and I have been assisting her brother since July 2 with stroke therapy. Fortunately it was as mild a stroke as you could possibly have with minimal effects. My best wishes for Frank to make a full recovery. Dennis

Not many mail Christmas cards these day, but if you do and have one left over send one off to midyearvette:

Frank room 355

Columbus, Ohio 43215

Merry Christmas.
