Terrible news to report...

I worked a long day today and just got a chance to check in here. I am very sad to hear this news. Joe was always engaged in this forum trying to help and keeping the banter cranked up so things were never boring.
I bet no matter how it happened he is really pissed that he dented his 65 Triple Black baby! Last I remember he was pretty sure he was making 445 HP in his tweaked 327.
So sad, prayers for those close to him and hurting right now.

I didn't know Joe, even though I also live in NJ (Northern NJ in my case). But just seeing how many on this forum respect his opinion is such a positive thing.
My condolences to his family - I hope they (his family) get to see how many people he got to touch in one way or another just through this forum...
To try to find the silver lining - he passed away while driving his Vette, and not in a hospital - hooked up to tubes. I truly hope that all of us get to skip that horrible stage that serves no real purpose...
REST IN PEACE !!!!

God speed Joe.
Did he have a history of heart problems perhaps?

AsI stated earlier I have spent hours and hours talking to Joe on the phone. We discussed lots of stuff other than cars. Last year he mentioned he was having arthritis problems and that was holding him up on getting his car back on the road. Two years ago he mentioned some knee problems but he worked that out. To my knowledge he didn’t smoke. He never mentioned having any heart problems. In the spring of 17 he told me he wanted to drive his vette to Key West. He told me he would stay here on the way there for a night or two. He didn’t get the car ready to make the trip.
I called the the funeral home today to see if they knew whether he just lost control or was there a medical event. They refused to discuss.

Is there an address or someway to send a card to his family? There are over 100 responses in this thread. Imagine what it would mean to his family if they received 100 cards saying how much he meant to all of us.

Maybe a memorial brick dedicated to Joe at the Corvette museum?
It's only a token, but it's permanent.

Here's a pic of Joe and I from about 2012. He was considering moving to Florida and was spending several weeks here, checking out various parts of the state. We spent the day together while I showed him around. Joe obviously decided to stay in New Jersey.

Awfully nice of you to spearhead this effort, and count me in.
I might recommend starting a new thread in the event some original posters here don’t happen to recheck this one?
