Who has 17" wheels on tehir C1? Post pics please
Looking at getting some AR TT II wheels in chrome in 17" diameter to replace the 15" Cragar S/S wheels I have had for decades. Mostly for more tire choices in the 17" tire.
Just not sure how they would look.
Thanks,
Doug

Front disc brakes and air shocks on rear. 17X8's all around. Backs will rub without air shocks, no issues on the front.

17 Torque Thrust
Here's my old 61' with 17x7 Torq Thrust II on it w/4" backspace. This was in 2002 and I had the wheels Chromed cause I hate polishing aluminum wheels. There is another picture in in "my pictures", just hit my name to look. No rubbing issues even being lowered. I cut 1 coil from the front and made custom lowering blocks for the rear.

You can consider increasing tire diameter. I current run 26" tall tires on 15" rims on the '61 and would go to ~27.5" tall (stock height) tires if I go to 17" rims, and install the '54 Chev drop spindles in front and lower the rear an inch at the same time. The taller tire should make up for the extra rim diameter.

Doug,
i don't remember the sizes. I'll look in my old car files and see if I find the purchase receipt. But I do remember they were Kuhmo tires. They were the only manufacture that had matching tread design for both the front and rear. I know the rears were 1 or 2 sizes larger than the fronts.

It will. I put 17" on Ferrari replacing the 14" rims, and kept the tire height the same. The ride is harsher, not bad, but more harsh.

tire selection will be important, if for no other reason than to avoid the rubber band look...

Tyres
[QUOTE=62cruiseer;1597633105]Any issues with rub in the back? Obviously the front wheels are not as wide as the back. What size on both ends and what tires are you running. It looks really nice!
The rims are eight inches wide on the rear and six inches on the front.
Tyres are two twenty five by fifty five and fronts are two one five by fifty five series. Apologies, cannot type number on here for some reason. The front tyre are a bit too wide for the rims. Two zero fives would be ideal. I had trouble finding a two zero five tyre with a sixty profile to keep the sidewall height as close as I could.
The rears are tight but I have a four link rear suspension which gives more clearance and only about two inches of upward travel. I do like the wheels very much. The stance of the vehicle helps too.
Good luck with your search. Some very nice examples on here to help you.
Cheers,
Mark.

It was an old drag car......my friend got it and has been making many changes and fixes. It still seems to sit too high in the back (to me anyway).
