IDGAFF if Germans want to use Asian tires, that's not what we're talking about here. If buying American makes me a snob, so be it.

I recently put the Hankooks on my 65, but didn't like the look because the actual tread width was so narrow. Discount Tire took them back and gave me full credit towards the Tiger Paws. Tread width was over 1" wider for exact same size tire. Date code is early 2018 and does say made in USA. Tiger Paws were only a few dollars more.

The Tiger Paws ride well, look good, wear decently and are cheap. I've had them on my 63 for like 4 years now and they still look new. And since they are from an OEM manufacturer, Uniroyal, will still net you some judging points...

There are acceptable names or words that look good in WHITE LETTERS and then there are unacceptable names or words that look bad in WHITE LETTERS.

Racing heritage good. Silly names like tiger paw and cobra bad.

Opinions vary....
I ran T/As for years, even auto-crossed with them. Finally got over the "look" and regular 'ole whitewalls are fine for me now...

Yeah, I'm all about stock looking tires these days. I was never a fan BOLD white letter tires no matter what they read but some are plain embarrassing.
Tires should never draw your attention away from the car as a whole. That's just bad taste. Car designers are very conscious of the effect a poorly chosen tire sidewall treatment can have on the overall look of a car. That's why it is very rare to see new cars with something other than blackwall tires. It also applies to old Vettes that originally had thin lines or small white letters.
