wave.......are you doing it?
Perhaps it depends on the area. Not meant as a dig.........as far as the wave goes, it just seems to me that many C4-C7 drivers don't bother with acknowledging the older generation Corvettes via the wave. After initiating a wave, not all but many guys look straight ahead and/or look in your direction. That's about it, no return wave or head nod.
Intergenerational C1-C3 cars usually garner an acknowledgement amongst the earlier brethren. .. Beyond that........iffy. What's been your experience?

I find about the same thing, the older cars are at about 95%, not so much as they get newer.

I give the wave to all Vettes, any year, and mostly get one back, if I'm soon enough in the approach. I also typically give the wave when driving one of my other "old" cars, to other 'old' cars, and mostly get the wave back from them too.

I always give a wave, get about 75% return.

Often times around here I notice certain digits are used more frequently than others.

Maybe the C7 crowd is younger and busy on their phones or they don’t know that C1 and C2’s are Corvettes.

I tend to wave at any vintage car I see coming my way. I usually use the thumbs up and almost always get one back. Newer vettes almost always have their window up so I tend not to wave unless they go first. Pecking order prevails.

I always wave, it’s mixed on who waves first. Most wave back.
I get a lot of waves from non-Corvette owners.

Back in the 50s and 60s, owning a Corvette was like belonging to a fraternity of people that you didn't know. Acknowledgment by waving was pretty standard stuff back then. My hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa reputedly had a huge contingent of Corvettes per capita. My high school, which housed 2,400 students (three grades), had eight to ten cars. This was during the '64-'67 period. Outside of school--in the real adult world--rarely did you see those cars owned by people much beyond the age of 35. My next door neighbor, who was an M.D., and who was in his 50s had a '63 SWC, but for the most part, it was a younger man's car. Not so today.

When I'm driving my 2001 Grand Am Parts Chaser car with a bunch of greasy Vette cylinder heads in the trunk, I forget what I'm driving, and I automatically wave to every Vette I meet. I usually get a dumb stare... Sometimes a wave back. Never a "thumbs up." Go figure...

I have both a C1 and a C7, and I always wave. Return rate is at least 80%.

I try to wave at all Vettes when I see them. At times the driving task requires more attention with the heavy traffic here in southern CA an I miss some. I get maybe 50% return waves. I'll also wave to vintage and other nice high end performance cars and usually get a wave back

I wave at all I see but if there's a pretty big median/divider in the highway I may miss some or see them just as they're passing because I'm concentrating on my side of the highway. So if one slips by and doesn't wave I give him the benefit of the doubt and figure the same thing happened to him:-)
