Would you alter your dream car? See what the owner of this '65 did to his, inside.

This is my car. These pics were taken for Vette Magazine. It will be in the December issue. I hope you like it. I tried to keep the mods subtle. Your comments or questions are welcome.

This is very close to what I consider the perfect driver C2. First its a coupe with A/C. Second it has a reliable injected small block with more power than an original big block and a 5 speed (overdrive). And third better suspension. The only things I would do differently is keep the original paint color, swap in a set of widened 67+ rally wheels and find the widest UHP tires.that fit.Oh and maybe used an aluminum LS motor although that would ruin the looks.

Originally I ran an Accel Gen 7 that I bought used. That turned out to be a mistake as it was out dated and had some internal gremlins.
For the last couple of years I have been running a Holley HP unit. It is fantastic. I would highly recommend it.

If you were at Corvettes at Carlisle 2018 I had the pleasure to view your car in person. Pictures do not do this car justice. It is absolutely gorgeous. Extremely well done and timeless. Very impressive to say the least.

It's gorgeous. Are you using the intake manifold Holley sell with the complete HP kit? Where is the oil filler now? Also, is the "Muskegon" rear spring you are using the tapered composite that Muskegon brake took over from TRW? I didn't see any mention, but that dual master cylinder is an upgrade, too, if I remember things correctly.

Yes, I take my car to Carlisle every year. Thanks for the nice complement.

The manifold is a Pro Products. We chose it because it made the most power and still fit under the BB hood. I pull the hose and use the vent port in the valve cover to change the oil. It is not a big deal. The Muskegon Brake rear spring is the composite TRW spring that they took over. I now use Ride Tech shocks which helped the ride tremendously. I added power brakes using the 67 style reservoir and booster.
Thanks

You have a great looking car.

The cup holder might be in the way when shifting gears. Needs to be a little lower. Also, the chrome lip flaked off on the one I had. I am returning it for a black one.

Shifting is not a problem at all. Initially, I was concerned about that. However, it turned out to be a non issue. I did go with a C3 shifter tower which is a little longer then a C2.
I have not had a problem with the chrome on mine. I have had it for at least 5 years now.

Nice job with the 65-66 BB hood, my preference for sure. Not the stinger hood on the 65-66s!

Very nicely modded Sting Ray, woods. The original style engine looks so much more appropriate in a C2 than an LS motor. Congrats on creating a work of art!
