C1 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
Not my cup of tea.
For the money spent to do that car you could have countless other cars that will have a bigger audience when it comes time to sell. I know, it is not always about the money, people have different tastes, the guy may intend to die with it , etc. I hope he is happy with it. If we all had the same taste it would be a boring world. Just sayn'
Chip Foose is a talented guy but his taste and mine are at polar opposites from the things I have seen him build.

Foose is a helluva talented guy on the bodywork stuff, but I swear he puts the ugliest *** wheels on pretty much everything he builds.
Those wheels belong on a ghetto cruiser.

I have to agree with 68Hemi and 69427 the wheel are horrible. Big wheels do not belong on old cars. Those wheels are way to big and ugly! Chip is a talented man but he needs to give up on the wheels. Just my 2-cents.

I think a lot of people's 2 cents. Mine for sure. As stated, Chip is a humble and very talented guy. His wheels, however, cheapen his efforts. At least this one isn't painted 3 colors.

For someone who lusted after those 3 years of Impalas, 65 66 67......this is a fantastic car. A buddy had a black SS 65 and the lines of that land yatch always turned heads. For people like us and that guys wife it would be the ultimate. To get those lines in a smaller car and the performance of a C7?
Here.....just a bunch of critics with almost nothing nice to say.

The Foose quality and attention to detail remain among the best in the industry IMCO. As far as the colors, wheel choices, and money spent I would think that has to be agreed upon by who ever is paying the bill. It is possible that he is building what the owner wants not necessary what he would choose if he was building it for himself.
As far as the car goes I think it's fantastic and at the time it was built innovative. No not my color or wheel choice either.

That's interesting . I am from Europe, personally always found Foose makes exceptional body transformations, to finally screw it up for me completely with the wheels (and too low suspension). I blamed my dislike on differences in (car) culture/taste between Europe and US. But no mistake: I am a great great admirer of his skills, and as written earlier in this thread: wheels can be changed

A buddy of mine had a silver '65 back in the 70s. It was a sharp looking machine.
Regarding nothing nice to say, there's some combos that go together, and some combos that just don't work. And this combo just doesn't work.

I left something similar looking to that 65 in my toilet this morning.
Having had a big block, four speed Impala back in the 60’s this thing is not attractive to me. The wheels ruin it completely.

Fooses's talent and creativity are truly legend, but those wheels are AWFUL.

I have been an admirer of Chip Foose's work for many years. Every time I believe he's finally done it and he couldn't possibly top that, he does. The car is in my opinion spectacular. His vision and attention to detail is absolutely incredible. I am always amazed at his ability to draw your eyes to some of the most minute details.
Best of all he has managed to maintain an incredible level of humility despite all of his achievements.
