Color is a matter of personal choice and I would never ask someone to make that choice on MY car.
I am the outsider on this opinion. Black C2s seem to loose their lines with the darker colors. It is always difficult to photograph a black car to see the lines as the black sucks up all of the light when photographing them.

Another vote against black. One SWC was enough, the daily dusting and frequent cleaning was a real pain. I've had two black non-Vettes too --- even worse!

My last C2 was a black 67 vert. I would buff it for hours then go inside to have lunch and when I came back out it needed to be dusted off.
The only way I would do it again would be if it was an original numbers matching, born with engine black car.
I think silver looks great on these cars.

I’m at the exact same spot, currently fixing the frame and repairing fenders from a hack job, my car is Silver/Red (originaly was Silver Blue/Dark Blue), I would LOVE to paint it black, in my opinion the Black/Red combo is very elegant and vibrant, silver does show the lines more but in my opinion the black color subduing the lines a bit actualy benefits the C2 and also provides more contrast for the chrome.

I've got a triple black C1 and believe it to be one of the best colors for this car. Red C1's are very impressive and shows off the lines better, but there seems to be a sea of red C1's out there, so I chose black. I have to use one of those mop dusters (California Duster) to sweep the car carefully about once every two weeks, but it's worth it for the color choice.

When I got my red/red split window I felt like I was swimming in a sea of red for a few months - but it has grown on me and is now one of my favorite combos - I was never big on black cars - for a lot of reasons. And talking with the wife we realized I've NEVER owned one..

I've been a black interior guy since my 1st 1956 Chevy 210, purchased in 1965 with blk/wht interior (there were no factory solid black interiors that I can remember back then). Then a black/blue/white interior in a 58 black convertible. Hotter yes, but I was very tired of the art deco interior colors of the 50's and just wanted black instrument panels. I had a very nice 1964 Plymouth Fury about 10 years ago, that was red/red and it grew on me. I felt very classic driving it.

Of course there are some ways to mix it up and enjoy red and black interior simultaneously
Just not in a classic Corvette... My good pal Mike Coletta describes this as a "circus" interior

Sounds familiar - my college car in 1959-1962 was a black '56 Chevy 210 Delray 2-door post, with that distinctive black/white Delray-only vinyl interior; 265 power-pack with 3-on-the-tree and overdrive, later replaced by a T-10 4-speed.

My car will be painted this summer.
Undecided between white or black paint.
Black paint jobs looks super sharpe.....Any recommendations on the best way to keep a black car paint job clean? Best way to dust a black car?

A ceramic coating helps tremendously. Buff the crap out of it, apply the coating and from then on it will be touch up only. I treated my black truck and am very pleased. ( I also did my red 65 coupe) A California Duster works well to remove dust.
