2023 Restomod of the Year finalist
Would you paint her Tuxedo Black again?????
Hello,
My car has a red interior and will be primed in the Fall. My C2 Corvette is having a body off frame restoration & non-matching Resto-Mod, so I can pick any color.
I am undecided between the easy to keep clean Silver or the bright shiny hard to keep clean Tuxedo Black
For those of you with a black C2 Corvette paint job. Would you paint your car black again or choose to paint your car a different color this time????

Color is a matter of personal choice and I would never ask someone to make that choice on MY car.
I am the outsider on this opinion. Black C2s seem to loose their lines with the darker colors. It is always difficult to photograph a black car to see the lines as the black sucks up all of the light when photographing them.

The important thing to understand is that black paint shows EVERY imperfection. If you can’t take the time, or spend the money, to make the body PERFECT, you’ll be disappointed with the car after paint.

It’s not a lot of work. I wash it every few weeks and hit it lightly with a micro fiber pad and fine finishing polish and wax once or twice a year.
Like most of these cars, it’s garaged but does sit in the FL sun and occasional rain when I drive it to work.
Love your car (before pic?), black Vettes look mean...
Best of luck

Paint it black. It's no harder keeping it looking good than any other color. My last 4 daily driver trucks were black, my wife's past 2 daily drivers were black (but her current one is dark charcoal) and I'm getting a black C-7. For a car that will probably never see inclement weather, there's no reason not to paint it black.
