Looking for help with part number 3787465
I came across a block head with the part number 3787465 stamped on the head. Attached is a picture of the part number. It's also stamped "F99", thus for a 1959. Anyone have any insight/information on this block? Whenever I search that part number it pulls up a decal for an Impala. Any help would be appreciated.

The third digit is an "6" and not an "8". The casting number is actually 3767465.
The 3767465 heads are for a 283 that were used from 1959-1961.
So you have a 1959 283 cylinder head.

Your likely to run into further problems if you don't get the terminology right.
The part in your photo is not a block or a block head as you have called it. It is a cylinder head colloquially known as a head. The term block is a commonly used name for the cylinder case which a head bolts to.
The number pictured in your photo 3767465 was not stamped into the head. The number was formed by the mold that was made to form the head when it was cast. The cylinder head number pictured is referred to as a casting number which generally but not always is a different number than the specified parts part number. Same with the referenced number F99. The is referred to as a casting date. It is part of the casting and was not stamped in.
There are stamped numbers and characters on some parts. Using the wrong nomenclature confuses things.
Doesn't hurt to make things easily legible.
