Hello friends, recently came across this 1958. It looks rough, and I don't yet know if its a matching numbers car. I'm assuming its not, but I could be wrong.
28000 high horse original motor 22000 low horse original motor 18000 non original motor no rust good body 15000 or less with nom bad body or rust issues.

Note that a couple of the value items on the car for 1958, the louvered hood and the chrome tusks for the trunk, are missing. These are significant deductions on the car. Without seeing the engine compartment or interior, it’s hard to make other observations related to value. You need to check for prior damage, front end boys repair, and rust. Obviously needs a full restoration.
Also remember that 1958 engines do not carry a VIN derivative, so their motors do not technically “match” even when original. The block number, casting date, and pad assembly code can be correct and appropriate, but unlike a Corvette block that has a VIN, it doesn’t “match” the chassis VIN.

This might help you. This car was purchased for 20k. Frame turned out good. Motor was sold (64 327 CE). Repainted with a real nice paint job. Last I checked he is about mid 30’s all in. This turned out to be a no hit body. Interior still hasn’t been done to my knowledge.
They don't all have to be high dollar NCRS beautiful trailer queens that never see the open road....a tatty driver is just as cool, even cooler if it's actually driven. I'd make it a safe and reliable driver and enjoy it for what it is. Good luck on your quest!

I like that idea! If its not too bad, and I can get it roady worthy at a reasonable cost, I might just drive it mostly as is! Fun!
