65 big block update
Time for an official update to my original thread from 2 years ago - https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...f-new-toy.html
I had to finish my current project before I started working on this one. At the time I bought it, I wasn't sure which direction I was going to go but those that know me knew another body-off restoration was in its future. They were right. I just finished shooting the paint. I still have to cut & buff. That Glen Green sure looks black unless it's in the bright sun. Here's some progress pics.

Sweet !!!
Remember back in 1965 and I had a black ’64 coupe good friend of mine purchased a “NEW” Glen Green roadster Black Top & Interior “FUELIE”. Had the LOOK if you know what I mean.

Very nice work. My favorite color for a '65. Can't wait to see it done....a beautiful beast, for sure!

whats up with the side-pipes? looks like a combo on the mufflers, curious as to what result you are looking for.

The muffler section is made by Classic Chambered. The are a little louder than stock but a lot deeper sounding. OEM side pipes rob a lot of HP as there flow path is only 1 1/2". That would be like running a marathon breathing through a plastic straw, especially with a big block. Joe Ciaravino, RIP, had these on his 65 with a built small block. He had headers with electric cut-outs. Back to back dyno. runs were 414 RWHP with open headers, 408 RWHP through the side pipes. A buddy put them on his big block Cobra and picked up over 80 RWHP over the stock exhaust.

Very nice - it’s impressive to see somebody who does it all themselves, rather than just “tinkers” around!

Beautiful work as usual. Should be a spectacular car when you get it assembled.

Very Sharp color! I like the way your shop is set up and the work shows a very high level of both experience and detail.

The Glen Green looks terrific! My '65 tanker was Glen Green with black leather, and I drove it everywhere!

I’m not typically a big fan of green, but that just looks perfect!
Nice job!

Thanks. I'm not a big fan of green either but to me, they have to be painted the original color. In hindsight though, my 70 LS-6 Chevelle was Forest Green Metallic and my 70 RS Camaro was Green Mist Metallic. Maybe I'm a "closet fan" of green and I'm actually in denial.

WHAT? Joe C. passed away? I am shocked & saddened to hear this! It was during a call with him back in late summer 2008 where I came up with the VettePack idea to solve his dilemma. He installed the first set & the rest is history.
Joe, RIP my friend - I already miss you.
