I have had a lot of old classic cars in my life and owned some type of a C2 for 30 consecutive years until 2007 when I decided it was time for a change but came back to one this year. C2 coupes are my favorite and I think their beautiful styling is timeless.
Some outstanding choices. I always liked the '65 Riviera with the clam shell head lamps. That generation of Buick has some super clean lines. Hard to beat.
I agree. Just looked at a real clean, low miles '67. All original. Only asking $15k. Tempted, but would have to leave it outside.
Had only seen these in magazines and in the movies..... Then one day when I was in high school one of my buddies said he heard that there was a guy who was a Prince, or something like that, and he had a blue Countach. He lived in a very nice neighborhood on Lake Washington. We drove up to the house one day and rang the doorbell. Three high school kids, at some mega expensive house, all I remember is the front doors looked like they were 10' tall, and we had no idea what was going to happen, or if we were even at the right house...… The door opened and a tall gentlemen stood there looking at us, didn't even say a word, just looked at us. My buddy who came up with all of this says 'Do you have a Lamborghini?????'. The gentleman points over to the garage door, and then closes the door. We walk out to the driveway, staring at the garage door..... The door starts to open, and as it is going up, we lean down to see what we can see..... the first thing is the rear tires..... wider than anything we had ever seen..... then the exhaust tips.... the bumper, taillights...…. then, that wing..... cars in those days did not have tires that wide, and a wing like that, are you kidding me???? We stood there and just stared at it..... Then, just like that, the door started to close...… Catching every sight we could and then it was gone, the three of us just staring at a garage door...……….

After a 67 Vette, here’s my 2nd favorite. It’s timeless especially considering it came out in 1991. When I shift from 2nd to third at 8K RPM and 65 mph, the car gets you to 100mph in an instant. It’s exhilarating.
Weigh in with pics and a reason, if you are so inclined. Your response can apply to ANY design, not just Sports Cars or Corvettes. I am expecting some eclectic answers to this one.
1933 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow. Elegant design for its time and my grandfather worked on them when he was with Pierce back in the day.
I’d have to add a Dino and a Jag convertible to my short list. And of course a split window. And a certain Maserati. Round it out with an MB gull wing.

Especially in this shot, that car could have been a Corvette. Many shared styling cues. Had they gone mid engine with the C5, I could see this being it.

I think Jim Hall's Chapparal series of race cars in the 60's epitomizes the best design in all of the automotive world. He was so far ahead of his time in design and engineering that many of his innovations, such as the moveable wing, and the entire Chapparal 2J car were BANNED from competition.

Your memory is intact. The NSX was the first production car to use titanium connecting rods. Helps get you 8K RPM. What most don’t know is they lined the cylinders with a carbon fiber mesh instead of iron to allow for bigger pistons.
It’s my my favorite car to drive. It was fast in its day (0-60 in 5s) but not so much today.
I'm not into exotic designs , just good old American Muscle and I don't think you can beat the styling of the 60's muscle cars , especially in the 1966 year GTO, 442, 396 Chevy's , Mopars , Grand Sports .
Certainly not one of the all time greats but the '62 Olds Starfire was a beautiful car. The cars that GM produced for the '61-'62 model years were outstanding. They ruled the world back then. How times have changed.

Shocked to see this contribution. My Mom had a white ‘62 Starfire convertible and she thought it was the most beautiful car ever made.
