Default C2 on a C3 frame

I have a 64 coupe that needs a frame, I have a bare 69 frame
that is decent, could I use that frame on my 64, beside different
body mounts is it doable.I am a pretty good welder

If you have both side by side it would be doable there should be write ups on here on what’s all different and what needs to be changed

It's very doable. Easier yet if you can use the 64 rear frame sections. I have a 78 frame under my 64 coupe.

If your frame has the braces as shown you will have to remove them or modify the body.
Also, C3 fuel lines ran along the bottom of the frame rail so you may have to modify the body if you go that route. You won't have the notch in the body for the line.

I can use the rear frame section at the fuel tank area, and was planning to run the fuel lines as stock for a 64 or slightly modified

Another thing. In '66 the front to rear brake line moved from the top to the side of the frame. They put a notch in the body for this. Your '64 won't have it.

Slalomfiend used a 75 for his 67. Here is a link to his build and it is a beautiful car. He did a great job.

Silverslashstreak did a nice write up doing this same swap also. Not to take anything away from slalom fiend.

If your car is not close to original it won’t make much difference but There are so many differences in a 68 and up frame that a not so well trained eye could spot it in a minute hurting the value of your car. (Don’t say anything 64 haters) with so many resto mods being built there are a lot of 64 frames for sale at a good price. I sold a nice roller for 2k.
