My first c1. It’s a project
I traded off my old 37 chevy truck on a 62. It’s a major project. I’m probably going to need a lot of advice and help from forum members.

I stumbled acrossed it on the web. It was a new posting. I told him what I had to trade. I had to cover the shipping both ways. A good buddy and I rode 430+ miles one way to New Jersey after work. He has a new f250 and enclosed toy hauler. 11 pm we pulled in to a mall 12 miles away from the car. Woke up in morning ate at IHOP. Called Charlie . Met him. He liked mine. Trade went through. He’s had the car for over 20 years in the current state. Frame has been finished. It doesn’t roll. I plan on doing the frame this winter in my home garage. Missing some things. Radiator shroud, support, exhaust, wheels, rocker moldings, tach, radio. I’m sure other things. Seats are nice, looks like most chrome is there. It’s been completely apart. Nom motor and trans. Decent body. I’m happy with it.

Body looks original front clip. The neat thing with a 62 you can paint it any 62 color if you want to keep it Original. What motor do you have? Is it a 4 speed car? How many tops?
These missing items can be found. I have friends that have it all.

I have some small leftover parts with my project. If you need parts let me know... Nothing large but small parts like some door parts, fasteners, weatherstripping and brackets plus braces. Its the stuff that adds up if missing. Grab bar brackets and some trim pieces and such.

Motor is 350 4 bolt, torn apart. Muncie 4spd. Soft top . Driver side quarter has a little damage but all fiberglass is there. Couple of holes drilled under gas tank in the center and one side I have know idea why. Passenger side door has a green grease marking 696. What does that stand for. Colors I’m thinking is black with red interior some day.

I know I’m going to need weather stripping. It looks like I’m missing the access panels on the inside of doors both sides, splash pans underneath car, fan shroud, radiator bracket, and probably a lot more. I’ll check with you before I buy retail. Thanks.

I've been trying to see your car for 3 days. With this damn lazy loading idea somebody came up with pics never load on my iPad or my ph. I can't even tell what year it is from the pic the best I can figure out is a car with a rear end in front of it. It can't be much more of a project than this, lol. It started out as a complete body but I didn't like a previous wheel forward repair on the front and I installed wider GTS quarter panels. Good luck

Thanks Robert61, Looks like I’m a little farther along already. Your supports for the door area? Looks like you went from top hinge holes to door latch. I was debating to remove hinge or not. I was going to use square tubing. Body has been off of frame prior to me getting car.

Now, I call that positive thinking. My first C1 project....If I was betting in Vegas, I would call this your 1st & last project. Unless you win the state lottery.

Don't let em beat you down. This mine today still a long long way to go but you can almost tell what it is now. And they would have certainly said the same or worse about mine. I can tell you there is a lot of great help here.
