Funny you should post this question. I am/was faced with same question. My car group guys said any of the majors like Passport, Reliable, Intercity or Thomas Sunday. I called all of them. None could help. All said the same thing. They are currently booked up. Maybe in 6 weeks but no guarantee and no date for pick up or delivery yet! Seems AZ car auction week is well under way! I will say the most helpful in explaining it all was Thomas Sunday. He suggested I try to find a local carrier. Well, I have had to go with a broker who has been good so far but they won’t be picking up for a couple weeks yet. You may have better luck as most of the majors are eastern based. I am in CA. Prices are similar. $1300 to low of $1000 from no. CA to AZ door to door. This probably does not answer your question but it might be a start. Good luck in your search!

I agree with reliable, however if well booked, you could post on USHIP.COM and see what comes up, there are some good carriers there and you can judge by feedback who is better

Here are a couple of guys from the Pontiac Forums that transport in enclosed trailers. I have not used either as I have my own trailer, but forum feedback on both has been good. Bill's Auto Works in Ohio 216-832-8697 and Truly Vintage (Jim) 260-804-6695

Melting Slicks
I've used Applewood Motorcar in West Virginia. Google them for contact info. They only do Enclosed. I would recommend them.

If you are still looking for some insight on genuine transportation service then I would suggest you to read the online reviews of the auto transport companies that you came across till now. This will help you in identifying the quality of service offered by different team. Moreover, I will personally recommend you to go with Connecticut Auto Transporter as I have found many positive reviews of this team. Or else you can refer other suggestions too in case if you want some more option.

I use Exotic Auot Transport out of Winter Garden FL. I wouldn’t use U-Ship to move a bicycle. They are a broker so you could wind up with jerks. Plus their business practices are questionable.

Intercity Transport
I've used Intercity twice and had no problems. First time was bringing the '61 Vette from Austin Texas to Sonoma County, California, second time when I was relocating to Prescott AZ, I had them show up with an empty truck and they hauled it all in two days.
Of course, timing is everything and at that time, there were no conflicts with large auction houses.

My friends and I move a fair amount of cars (mostly exotic and highend) and I use small private guys, who we are very very happy with.
Try Mike Bengal - Cell 352-208-3814 or
Wenzel Hobsen - cell 239-207-2736
I find Mike to be a bit more affordable and he either picks up his phone or calls back on time. If he can't make the trip (we move cars all over the country it seems) cause for example right now all the business is moving cars from New England to Fl for the winter, he will help find transport.. ( am trying to move a car from Southern Cali to New England right now and there are no trips happening, so Mike is helping to get the car to his shop in Fl and then he will bring it up... All for the same price as if I just went from So Cal to New England.
Real service.

Intercity, no question.
Since I move like a gypsy every couple years, I’ve used them a couple times and will again this summer.
No issues, great communication and always show up for the price they quote.

The broker I used was Montway from Des Plaines, IL. They connected me with Delta Transportation/The Truck Shop from Fife, WA. None of their carriers would haul a 62 Corvette in anything but an enclosed trailer. I was pleasantly surprised all around. Pick up on time and delivery almost right on time! Literally, door to door. Price was great. Including broker fees. Better than any of the majors. This worked out quite well for me. Working through a broker can be a crap shoot, of course but this one was great.
