I am in the process of buying a 1960 corvette 283/270, and will pick it up in about a week. I have owned a few other corvettes, but am by no means an expert with then. My previous were: 64 hardtop, 327/365, 68 conv, 427/400, and a 2013 Grand Sport 3.
I am in Jacksonville, Texas, which is roughly 2 hours south east of Dallas. Moved here just over 3 years ago from southern California to raise buffalo. Life is good.
I have 1 other collector car, a 1970 Plymouth 'cuda, triple black, 440/390, 4 speed.
Other than saying hi to everyone, I'm interested in parts suppliers. I see some advertisers on this page, and I'll check them out, but any thoughts about who to consider, or, more importantly, who to avoid?
I look forward to picking up as much knowledge as I can for you guys.
Thanks everyone.

Welcome to the forum!
Nice assortment of Corvettes you have owned and the one you are now picking up!
All of the vendors I've dealt with here have been very easy to deal with. However, there is a section in the forum for members to leave comments, both positive and negative about their encounters with sellers - either members or vendors. That is at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-feedback-153/. If I am not familiar with a vendor/seller, I check there first.
You'll find lots of great members and helpful information in the C1/C2 section of the forum at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1953-1967-21/.
Best wishes, Larry

Welcome, but I am going to move this over to C1/C2 Corvettes section where you will get more recommendations on parts suppliers for your generation of Corvette.

Welcome aboard. Any parts in particular you are looking for? I grew up near Jacksonville and had a deer lease a few years ago in Frankston.

Since you are a refugee from So. Cal you may already be aware of Corvette David, David Sokolowski, in South Gate. He is a prolific buyer and seller of used C1, C2, C3 and perhaps later parts. He is my number 1 source for good used original parts. I highly recommend you contact him first if original is what you are looking for. Contact info should be easy to find on line.

Welcome to the forum!
It's a great resource when working on these old cars. The search function is a little weak.
Better results are often achieved if you start at google, then type "site:corvetteforum.com", followed by your search terms.
Of course you can always post a question if you're stuck.
Photos or it didn't happen!

Wait, you've owned a C2, C3, C6, and are buying a C1, and you don't consider yourself an expert?
Welcome, and I hope you like the C1/C2 forums. These guys have saved me a ton of money, time, and frustration.
Check the rules: a picture of your new acquisition will be required.

I haven't made a list yet, but I'll do so probably next weekend. Some chrome pieces and fuel pump for sure, but there will be more. Look forward to meeting you somewhere along the line.

Welcome to texas
The TEXAS CHAPTER of NCRS [ National Corvette Restorers Society ] is an excellent resource. See www.ncrs.org and http://www.ncrstexas.org . GREAT GROUP of people and resource. PM or call me if you need more. I have been in the Corvette hobby since 1969 and owned over 80 Corvettes. 57's are one of my favorites.
