Default Midyear Removable Hardtop Interior Color

MY car is Daytona Blue with red interior. What colors would have been used for the hardtop interior? Not that I am concerned about "correctness". Just curious. Would it be like this one? Body color metal trim with interior color headliner?.

PIcs would be great!

With a license plate that reads :INCORCT . . . I know all too well the last thing you're concerned with is "correctness"!!!

Tom, I own a red, red 65. The hardtop has red trim and no headliner at present, but a new one in a box to install this winter. It will be red. I also have a 64, black interior and trim and headliner are black. No pictures, but hope that helps.

I would really to to see you car with a Daytona blue top and red headliner. That would be different and very uncommon.

Thanks! The vendor catalogs call for a 65 MY only. I think the only difference is the material. What is the material like on the 65? 66-67 should be the same color but different material. I could use either for color match but I don't know which material would like better.

Thanks Marc. It's getting cold up here so it's time for the hard top. Only I have to put it back together after the repaint. Soon I hope!

It’s a red cloth bonded to a layer of foam. I think 6 & 7 are vinyl. Ordered from ZIP.

Tom I know for 66-66 coupe headliner they have depressions for sun visors and 63-65 dose not. Hard top headliners might be the same

The first picture is wrong, no blue trim on white interior it should be all white. 63 to 65 headliners are the same material and no one sells one with correct material. Original is a very thin layer of soft fiberglass with a very fragile covering ( just like a cheep fiberglass ceiling tile) the reproduction are a hard board product. 66 and 67 hard top are vinyl on foam with paper backing. 66 cp is vinyl on foam with no sunviser recess. 67 cp vinyl on foam with sunviser recess. The 66 and 67 reproductions are very close to the original.

The car in the first picture does not have a white interior - there wasn't one in '66.

The interior of that car is blue/white (RPO 450) - the blue is "correct".

My 65 was Nassau Blue with blue/white interior, RPO 450, when new. The factory hardtop had a white headliner with white trim. I didn't know if there were other options such as the one in the pic I posted.

I’ll just state that the 65 repo is not a hard board product.
I’ll also add that your 64 description is probably correct, the liner will not come out without destroying it. Appears to be bonded to the roof panel.

63 to 65 headliners are all made of the same material. They are not bonded to the roof from the factory in anyway. If yours is bonded and is not the thin type it has been replaced.
