Default Very early cars (6V) cigarette lighter question

Didn't you just go out and buy a new element when the cig lighter burned out? using the same exterior grab ****?

Do those just unscrew?

Asking before i break something.

Thanks,
Doug

That's the way I remember it. Don't know what year they changed that. Should unscrew pretty easily

My lighter is threaded, it’s also a 12 volt unit, I don’t know if there’s a difference.
