Big Block Hood Clearance
Which has more clearance under the hood, a 65-66 hood or a 67 stinger?

I would have to say the 1967 hood does. By how much...that I do not know specifically.

I actually measured the under hood clearance on both several years ago. I can’t remember the exact amounts, but I do know that the 1966 is slightly wider while the 1967 is slightly taller. Be careful with this, though as the engine is slightly offset to the right so the highest point under the hood is not directly above the air cleaner stud. Also, if the 1967 hood has the cowl induction plenum installed and you don’t plan on using it, you are limited to a 12” diameter air cleaner. That said, if you have it use it!

I’ve got to get a new hood, mine is warped. No issue with the current 67 hood with my 454 block, but I kinda like the 66 hood which should not be an issue either. Just wonder about future use in case I add something to the engine. Thanks for the replies.
