Default Pillar picture

Does anyone have a picture of their pillar before they put the weatherstripping on? My inside molding, 65 roadster, won't fit over the windshield frame correctly.

Thanks,
Dex.

Mine's coming back together. I can't get the chrome to fit over the lip. See picture below.

Thanks,
Dex.

Look in AIM and weatherstripping. I believe that will cover it as the painted part is where the WS will attach if I remember right

Those are a little tricky to install. You need to push it over the lip first, and then roll it forward, while lifting up on the outside trim with a screwdriver or nylon stick. At the same time, you'll be pushing down on the inside trim to get it under the outside trim (at the top). If you're trying to install it at the top first, it will never go in. Be careful that you don't scratch your dashpad, or lower inside windshield trim.

Thanks Guys! Here's a couple pictures. When I slide the inner trim over the lip and work it up, it sticks above the outer trim.

Read my post again. You're not installing it correctly. You have to pry UP on the outside molding, while you bring the inside piece around, and push down, not up.

Thanks Mike! This has been more difficult than it should be. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Thanks,
Dex.

My body/paint guy warned me this would be the most difficult part to install.

Mike's suggestion seems like it's the way to go. I'm going to try it again Friday. I've already managed to scratch and dent the lower molding, so I don't want to do another piece.

Thanks,
Dex.

Mike's suggestion worked perfectly....after I got passed the part of worrying about denting the outer molding by prying up on it.

Thanks,
Dex.
