What one single item do you see on this car that would prevent you from buying it or bidding higher than the current $30K? Just one item please. Something besides originality.

I failed miserably as I'm not seeing anything that glaring. But, I'm rather new to this hobby. Looking forward to reading what others find.

I'm busting out at the seams on that car, but keeping quiet. If I can call out just one thing, it's the "custom" bonding seams in front.

Placed on BaT for bid over the Thanksgiving holiday prevented higher bidding and stupid commenting.

Well said, so is the car!

i expect most of the paint will fail over the next few years - hasty, poor painting over hasty, poor body work.

I comment on most Corvettes on BaT, but specifically stayed away from this one.

The only issue I can see is the way the hood fits. But at that price I would certainly look at it.

Gas tank reading almost empty ? All kidding aside , Looks like the VIN tag has been removed and butchered at the rivets .

Has anyone noticed the likely reason it has disc brakes?

The $39.95 Earl Scheib paint job sprayed over last weeks road dirt? Bring in pig, apply lip stick.

I would be afraid of what it looks like under the paint. An up close, in person, inspection would be required.

Not only is the engine and rear diff from a '65, it's a '65 frame. E-Brake cables, missing center underfloor body mounts, non-63 lower control arms, etc, etc.

well its sitting on a 65+ frame with keyhole slots and gussets at rear crossmember. 63 Convertible may sit lower on the totem pole than any 64, and this example is not a good one.
$30K is a lot to pay for an FI system.

The contours of the front fenders suggest (to me) collision damage.

You said "one single item" but I'll add that it's got those KO wheels, notorious for spontaneously uninstalling themselves. What a deal breaker!

CVT Body # is OFF by more than 1000 units from the possible VIN range - should be a VIN in the late 17XXX area.

Its the reliable unctuousness of those in the car business that kept me from a career there, new, used, it's all the same. Some of the worst human beings I've known sold cars. Too bad.

BAT does not strike me as populated by serious and studious owners and experts, mostly arm chair know-it-alls who know enough to be a nuisance or worse should they be confused with an expert.

For a car advertised to be completed two days after my 63', it's 2000 vehicles off on the VIN (maybe 4 days would have been more believable, or maybe 44 months given the frame design). Verifying the VIN may be a challenge.

If you like the 63' interior and exterior cove & hood style, the benefits of the 65' frame and brakes are not much problem as a platform to build your own personal driver. The body may have issues. if one were planning a flaired or cut fender GranSport tribute custom shell, the foundation provides a reasonable start with a reasonable buy in threshold. Replace the front clip with 65' pieces and it might even improve in value overnight (with the right VIN from the frame and a correct 65 trim tag).

Among other things, it has a 64-65 FI unit.
