Yeah, that's why I specified PIck up truck. No reason for Ford to spend re-design money on a dying model. Twin I Beam was very durable but very old fashioned and the Ford trucks started handling and riding better after the thing was discontinued.

[QUOTE=gilbybarr;1598423921]Well, I consider my Crown Vic a classic.....a tremendous car....218,000 miles and still drives like new. Wish they still made them....I'd buy a new one in a heartbeat.

Right on man! Here is a photo of the very last Crown Vic built with plant employees.....Ford closed the Canadian plant in 2011, but extended the planned production run for
one month to make cars exclusively for shipment to....wait for it....Saudi Arabia!

Built a '32 Ford highboy in the late 80's (no pic, but like the one in post #57 except with a 392 Hemi instead of a flathead), and my "Woodward Car" in 1959 was a '51 Ford 2-door (photos below) with a '58 Cadillac and Hydra-matic set back ten inches.

I have never owned a Ford after the 54 Mainline 2 door I had when I first started driving, but I always liked the 61 Starliner, the 63 1/2 Galaxie XL 427, and of course, the Thunderbolts. Great styling!!!

The first car I ever had was a 1951 Ford in 1957. The first new car I ever bought was a 1967 L79 coupe. I now have one of each. Unfortunately, not the same ones.

Safety Car
I grew up a GM guy. However, the company cars switched to Fords about 2008. The GM cars always needed attention. Like intake manifold or head gaskets. Not to mention transmission issues. When we went to Fords all we had was routine maintenance and none of the above issues. We took the cars to 120K before trading them in.
That sold me on the family ride. ( because now I have to pay ) I now own a 2015 Taurus Limited and a 2004 Ranger. They are both great with very little issues.
I will always love my 65 Coupe though. Even though it is very High Maintenance.
