Here is what I've researched and discovered from data from Dow Smith hardtop assembly instructions. Four different products are used on the hardtop.
1. 9981098 (probably GM part #) or Dow Smith X-2719 is a product or cement used to bond the dowels at weatherstrip joints and the ends of the front weatherstrip near the front corners of the top.
2. 3710409 (probable GM part #) is used to seal the special screw holes in the plexiglass under the screw head and stainless triangular reinforcement pieces.
3. 9931215 [could be 9981215] (probable GM part #) is the sealant used in the grove of the weatherstrip against the plexiglass.
4. 3840733 (probable GM part #) called cement plastic and Dow Smith ID X-2783 is used in many places, including setting the rubber weatherstrip/plexiglass assembly into the rear of the top assembly, attaching the rear bow weatherstrip, added sealant after the window install across the rear top and sides of the plexiglass before trim install, and several places on the front and side trim and weatherstrip installation.
Now, if I can only find the equivalents in today's market. There is no reference to any of these in the old GM 8.0000 general parts catalog. Anyone have a reference??

Even if you find a GM reference, whatever the material was at the time (50+ years ago) is long-since discontinued; I'd just call Glassworks and ask them what they use today.
