I have been thru this several times. I also have the duel voice coil speaker from Gary Tayman and aftermarket AC. Definitely install it by removing the glove box. I did not have to remove any duct wok. Just be very careful as the magnet will pull towards the Z bar and when you pull it away you can rip the speaker cone with the studs on the grill. ( don't ask me how I know )

Thanks for the picture! My glove box and radio panels are out, so I wanted to install the new speaker now. And I don't have to ask, it sounds like something that would happen to me!

Thanks for my morning laugh.....I thought I was the only one that did that sort of stuff....if you think an original speaker is bad then the 140W aftermarket Custom Autosound will give you fits. Its huge magnet clamps onto the metal Z-bar like its welded...
