I also have the larger sway bar with no interference (1/4Ē clearance) with the upper control arms.

I didnt slide the radiator down down far enough as the fan shrouds hit the ucaís to check interference with the shroud/sway bar. Once I pull the fans, Iíll trial fit the radiator and check clearance for a new fan to verify my set up. Iíll post some pictures and let you know my chosen course of action.

White...engine...bay?!

My ocd would cause a fission reaction in my brain perhaps taking out most of the Southwest. On the upside, a large crater might be more effective than a wall.

Haha, love the white!! It makes me think of my boat, it was a brand new boat and the engine compartment was white with splashes of purple and orange splattered all in it matching the exterior. It looked great, but whatever the factory used to paint it was porous & I couldn't keep it clean, so I pulled the motors, scuffed and painted it in a non porous gelcoat that wiped off any belt dust or oil film very easily.

Yea, I'm with Mark. The only execution of a white engine bay I've ever liked was in road race/ NASCAR themed builds where the idea was to be able to easily spot leaks....much like the landing gear bays of most modern military aircraft. For a true driver, the amount of grime accumulation would be maddening.

White seems to "hide" smears, fluid damage, leaks, and heat faded paint, better than most dark colours - GV

PS: Greg: Nice bracing in the engine bay. - good pic.

Could be....in aviation applications at least, hydraulic fluid is bright red, and engine oil is purple....both of which stand out noticeably against the gloss white of gear wells and engine intakes.

Iíve always thought that Traco grey would make a cool retro race engine compartment.

In aircraft, you need to know before itís too late. In my Corvette, some things I just donít want to know until I decide to look for it. Plus, my weird build plan says the car looks like someone took a stock Corvette and made appropriate upgrades for performance.

I have a couple of very good friends friends who are retired Air Force pilots and really into aircraft who keep trying to convince me I should buy and modify an old airplane (one is an certified FAA inspector and chief pilot for Ross Perot, jrís Fleet of F-5 fighters). The other has the most kills piloting an A-10 and harrowing stories of being shot at during the Gulf War. Anyway, I quickly explain that if my engine quits, I simply coast to the side of the road.

Back in the 80ís when I was building streetrods, body colored engine bays were all the rage and every car I built received that treatment. However, most were darker colors.

I like that ďmachinery grayĒ color and it would look pretty cool if the engine matched that color. My engine will be silver and black (more black than silver, but Iím more of a Spurs fan than Raiders fan). With a black engine bay it will look right at home.

Iím sitting here in the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica checking email. I deliberately turned it off while on vacation with the family. I had several voice mails, but two that I wish I got earlier, both from Blueprint saying my 427 sbc with the Holley Sniper EFI is ready to ship! Damn, I wish I would have picked that message up on Wednesday. I wonder how long it will take to ship to San Antonio? Iím in town next week, but in NY the following.

This monkey key was hanging out in the rafters of our house in Costa Rica. He made that face when he heard I missed the call.

You sure he didn’t make that face when he saw you come out to get some Oreos in nothing but shorts?

Ford grey looks great imo...better than some of the garish colors out there to spot oil leaks. Black is the worst

Ha! I was only wearing the shorts Ďcause itís a, you know, family vacation.

One of my daughters loves to catch her mom in uncomfortable positions. The wife went upstairs to get something and the monkey followed her. My daughter instead of warning her mom, took several pictures of her coming back down the stairs unaware the monkey was waiting!

No jacuzzi, but he and his friends loved hanging out in the pool.
