63 parking brake equalizer spring
The forward hooked end of this spring is scratching my fiberglass. Is something wrong or is it possibly bent or installed wrong ?

Hi Frank,
I can't remember but are both ends of that spring the same and can you turn it over so the smooth round side is against the floor.
I wonder if that's why many have the lever bend down a little, I will take a look at my car tomorrow.
Also, is the lever mounted above or below the welded on frame bracket or could it have been bent up at some time in recent past.

I’ll have to.check the AIM Tim. I’m under the car a lot and just noticed this so it’s perplexing. I’d love to see how your car looks. I could possibly flip the hook but I think the smooth side would still rub. It doesn’t seem correct.

I don't know about the spring itself, Frankie, but those levers tend to get bent upward over 55 years...*
* Checked the AIM, it shows the spring end pointed down...

Checked my 63 AIM and it appears the spring sharp end should be facing down - interesting as I've never had any of that assembly apart. So SOMEbody got it wrong.....I'll try to flip it this morning...
Thanks all.
Thanks all.
