Default New PurchaseSummerville S

This is my first post on this forum.
In 1967 I was a very lucky young man. I was given a new 1967 Corvette two top convertible. It was Goodwood green with a Saddle interior. Options included hard top, 4speed, positraction/3.55, radio, and a 350 hp engine. It was stolen in 1970 and I moved on to a new XKE.
i have been fortunate to own a number of vintage cars including Porsche’s, Ferrari’s, etc.
Last week I purchased a Rally red/black two top 67’ 350 hp from Greg Wyatt in
Summerville, Georgia. It is a condition #1 NCRS Top Flight with the original window sticker. It was carefully inspected by a close knowledgeable friend and will arrive this week.
Coming full circle!
Will report on the vehicle when it arrives.

if its that car in the link then it looks like you bought another brand new 67. I should remember that car as it was judged the same time that my dads 67 was at that meet. I will need to look into my pictures and see if it is there.

LRGO, congratulations and welcome to the Corvette Forum.

It sounds as if you've found a pretty special car. A friend of mine bought his first Corvette in 1967, it was also a Goodwood green with a Saddle interior, it had a 427 but I can't recall now which engine. Unfortunately he only had it for a short time as well when it he and a friend ran off the road and hit a telephone pole. The good news was that he and the friend survived just fine and his insurance company bough him another.

This wouldn't be the car by chance would it?

Good luck... GUSTO

The only thing I see from the pictures of your car that could be an issue is that they are no carter key in the rear control arm shims. They can slide out if the key is not in there.

I actually paid 94k.
Greg gave me 4 new redline radials.
The windshield had a small defect and this is being replaced as well.
Greg seems to be a very straight shooter
additional comments would be welcomed

Not true. They appear to be the original style shims. They would have a hole on both ends allowing the trailing arm bolt to go through the shim and keep them in place vs the later style shims that had a slot on one end...those tend to fall out of midyear Corvettes. There is no cotter key (factory) on a midyear Corvette.

price is a moot point if your happy with it. If the windshield was original that was a mistake.

The windshield was original but I am a stickler for perfect glass.
I agree that within some parameters, the price is moot.
power windows would have been nice but you can’t have everything
green/saddle would have been sweet

well if you get the car NCRS judged again you will get a deduct for the repro glass greater then the condition hit on the original glass. but now that windshield we be used on anther NCRS car. as original windshields are in demand

Welcome to the forum. That’s a beautiful car.

I bought my ‘67 from Greg 6-1/2 years ago. I’ve been very happy with it. Greg is a stand up guy. He brought my car back to his place and replaced the shifter after the car had already been delivered to me on an “as is” sale. All at no charge to me.

Click on the photo below and you can see my car’s advertisement when it was at his store. I paid $15K less than you paid which I thought was a lot but sometimes in life you just have to grab for the brass ring when you see what you like. I haven’t done that many times in my life but I did it for this car and I have no regrets. So, forget the cost vs. value issue and drive on.

BTW, I lost sleep waiting for my car to arrive, too. I recommend a short m-term night shift convenience store job while you wait. It will occupy your time and let you stockpile gas money for when your car arrives.

Steve

Beautiful car. The only thing I can see wrong is that it’s not in my garage!

I too purchased my 67 from Greg. Very happy with the car and it was exactly as described.

Enjoy it!

Ed
