Mike, and easy solution to the conundrum is to simply add a Holley Sniper EFI Fuel Injection System to the car and be done with it. No more making excuses or need to remove the emblems.
The car will run better, gas mileage will likely increase and you can smile and say yes, when someone asks if it's a real fuelie...
Good luck... GUSTO

Here is the dash in my originally 365hp ‘64. It should be the same tach and 80# oil pressure gauge. Of course as mentioned earlier, the dash could have been replaced or upgraded during a restoration.

Melting Slicks
My first Corvette was a 1964 with Fuel Injection badges on the fenders. I wondered if it was an original Fuelie. It had a ‘64 hood but it had ‘65/66 gils on the front fenders. At the time, prior to internet, I somehow found out that I should look for the holes that mounted the air cleaner. The car did have those holes. I didn’t know/don’t recall the tach. The car was bastardized including a 350 in it so in the end, I realized that I couldn’t prove it was a Fuelie.
I believe that the only way to prove the car is an original Fuelie is with strong documentation from new.

Without the engine and documentation it doesn’t matter and should not come with any premium attached to the price.

Folks, thanks for all the replies, the car does appear to have the original paint, looks rough, the car did sit in a dry garage for 30 years, the old man wanted to drive it a few years ago and
sent it out, the garage just put in a newer 350, i found out through the neighbours that the garage sold his old engine for $8,000.00 , they took him to the cleaners, he just
wanted to drive the darn thing and I guess he did not care. even the bumpers are in ok shape, daily driver quality with rust just on inside. I may just buff the paint and
drive it for a year before I do the çomplete' on it. it will arrive on tuesday, I will post a few pics. even the carpet is original but very faded. Mike.
