Default Side pipe covers

This past weekend I removed the side pipes on my 66 to add an insert to try to get the drone of the engine down to an acceptable level. As I took the pipes off, the fiberglass insert that backs the aluminum cover on the inside of the cover separated. It looks like the insert was glued to the shielding with some type of "not so heat resistant" adhesive. Any idea what to use? Thanks. Jerry

This has been covered a few times in the past.........so the answer will be in the archives. But I believe JB Weld was one solution. There may be others. Let's see what others say.

Thanks Larry. I just ordered EPOXO 88. This somewhat flexible epoxy looks like it will do the job. Jerry

I used an epoxy on one of mine that separated a few years back and is still holding strong.
