Default Hood prop

just installed the hood last night after a major build. 66 427 w a/c. It's obvious that we have to install the prop on the driver's side since there is no room any more on the passengers side. The passengers side has the hump that's built into the wheelhouse along with bolt holes. The car was probably born as a small block . I can tell it was hit hit in the front and has replacement fender and wheel house on the left side . My question is: what's the best way to install the prop on the driver's side since it doesn't have the hump? Does one need to be made? Any recommendations would be appreciated
thank you

Badass, mine was factory installed on the drivers side in my ‘64. I don’t know if this helps, but I tried to blow up a picture that shows how it mounts.

The left fenderwell should have the same little platform molded in as the right fenderwell fpr the prop to bolt to. A stamped metal reinforcement is riveted in underneath as a nut plate for the prop to bolt to. I think the metal piece is interchangeable from left to right - not sure. I would post a picture of your left fenderwell as it sounds like it has some damage that wasn't repaired properly.

As above, both sides should have the mounting area for the hood support. I would not try to mount the thing without the plate that goes on the underside. There is a lot of stress on the support and you really do need the plate to spread it out.

When I got my BB GM replacement hood, I made my own underside reinforcement from aluminum. Dennis
