1964 Black and silver coupe interior pictures?
As I continue to plan my build, I want to restore the interior to the colors and layout it had from the factory. The trim tag for the interior is 899A which is a leather black and silver interior. The problem I have is the interior was changed to black decades ago, it’s falling apart, and I find too many conflicting opinions on what was black and what was silver. So, does anyone have pictures of this rare interior that I can use as a guide?
I’ll start with this picture from the internet that is beautiful, but it is a convertible and I don’t believe it is completely correct.

That's correct except for the carpet which should also be "silver". Actually medium to light grey.
Everything silver except the console, the dash, and the dash pads.

Thanks! Should the headliner, halo and other hard panels in the rear also be black?

silver carpet for all-silver interior
in a coupe all the upper trim trim is silver, pillar posts, headliner, etc

Michael Johnson recently posted pictures of his very original '64 black over silver Z06 in another post. I would use those pics as my guide...his silver interior has silver (gray) carpeting.

Hi Benton,
there is a now off-line recent 4 page thread on the Tech Discussion Board on this subject. 1964 Corvette Convertible Interior Jim Gessner and others that have owned, or do own two-toned interior 64s posted photos that show everything in Silver, except the complete dash and the console. Grey carpets. The headliner, quarter panel pieces and halo would all also be Silver. Mikelj on this board posted several shots of two of his 64s showing what I've described. Maybe he will post those same shots here when he spots this thread.
yes, still on the hunt for original dark blue rugs. Have you got?
previously posted on the CF. Daytona Blue with Silver.

Afternoon Folks... The cars with a 490D* code had a silver dash, with silver seats, and grey carpet. The 491A* codes had a black dash with silver seats and grey carpet and the 899A*
had the same except leather seats. The 491B* and M,N had a blue dash with silver seats and blue carpet, the 899B* and M,N same blue dash, silver leather seats and blue carpet.
At least that is my understanding of those codes. As you know the AO Smith cars did not have the 2nd ecl code after the A,B,M,N

1964, Bay Chevrolet, taking delivery of a 409 SS convertible, they just got in a new black/silver coupe. Silver seats, carpet, door panels, headliner, etc. Wish I snapped a pic. What a stunning car.
