What Was The Best Thread In 2018 ?
I haven't been on The Forum much this year (though my '66 Coupe is a mere 3 weeks from being finished, just as it was at this time 2 years ago) but there has to have been some good, long, bad and humorous discussion this past year.
Advice on purchasing a high-dollar model from someone who has never owned a Corvette ?
Fear of losing a knock-off wheel or even better, actually losing a knock-off wheel ?
Petronix and correct oil ?
Velocity Yellow being a special-ordered color in 1967 and I know this because I just purchased this all original car and it's Velocity Yellow ?
The imminent return of John Rosatti, because John Rosatti has a nice Corvette ?
Window Washing Tricks ?
An interesting Corvette is for sale but the original engine is missing, but then there is some dude on the other side of the country who has that same engine that he's considering selling, once he pulls it out of his jet-boat ?
A few of these are real, most are not but what have you seen this year ? What piqued your interest and kept you on your keyboard late at night or kept your finger hovering over the popcorn emoji keystroke ? What thread made you want to sell that old plastic car of yours ? What thread makes you want to hold on to it ?

Maybe not the "best" thread, but the outpouring of condolences on the demise of 15 year forum member 65tripleblack sticks with me...
Just a "Corvette guy" out doing what any of us might be doing in our cars on a given day and in an unfortunate twist of events -- gone forever....
For this reason, the incident sticks with me...

My favorite threads are the ones documenting the various builds going on, mostly from cars in rough shape, which I love to see them brought back. I also enjoy all postings asking which product is "the best".... or a good ol max tire size post, those responses are always entertaining!! Hahaha!!!

I can't remember the thread title but there was one that sounded like, putt, putt, putt, PUTT, putt, PUTT, putt, putt.

Here's a few of my favorite. Interestingly some I was considering were started back in 2017.
I like build threads: Brother's 67 Convertible 1964 Fat Boy Build
Threads started by new members and are never heard from again. Too many to list.
Threads that are like SEINFELD episodes and are ALL ABOUT NOTHING: C2 almost purchase
Humorous threads: The things you learn at shows...

This one starts a bit slow, but soon takes on a life of its own:
Never mind, the thread was in 2017....
Good luck...

That one hit a nerve. I HATE that thread, and its longevity. Am so turned off by it that I would never consider buying the product. Kind of like those radio ads that have the terms and conditions spoken at 200 mph at the end of the spiel to get everything in there in time....unintelligible, and to me, an automatic boycott of the product due to lack of tact.

I really like the threads that start off with all original numbers matching cars for sale only to find out they are frauds with either previous owners stepping in or builders throwing the red flags out.

I'd have to say a big thank you and would like to submit @Kerrmudgeon for the award (if there is such a thing) for his nearly weekly (ok, weekly with a little help from friends) Friday Funnies.
It's well appreciated!
