Yeah, I guess my "drive it regularly" philosophy doesn't work when there's 2 feet of snow in the driveway and salt on the roads. Just another reason for y'all to hate on California

I HATE to do this....but this seems to be the only Mecum Kissimmee thread I can find.
Does anyone know what the final bid price was on this car? It was Lot S 269.1
https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0119-36...tte-resto-mod/
It's a fabulous 1963 coupe restomod. My buddy and I talked to the owner/builder for 20 or more minutes, and were stunned at the expected price. His expected price was not necessarily the "reserve price".
He's building 5 of these. This is/was #1 of his series..

Wow, thank you both. I couldn't find that information.
He was looking for/hoping for 500K. My buddy and I were shocked to say the least.

Prices seem to be very strong across the board at Kissimmee 2019, IMHO. A lot of the "good ones" C1/C2 Vettes are frame off, Bloomington Gold BENCHMARK, NCRS Top Flight, so, it's hard for figure how the average C1/C2 "driver" market is doing. (At least it is for me, '67 327/350.) I guess it's the old 'how long is a piece of string' answer.
According to the Mecum website there are 363 Vette for sale at Kissimmee. For the 1967 C2's (my interest), so far;
- 37 for sale
- 11 sold
- 4 The Bid Goes On
- sold prices $66k - $209k
- of the 11 sold, 9 are 427/xxx
1966 C2's: 25 for sale, 8 sold, 13 The Bid Goes On
1965 C2's: 17 for sale, 9 sold, 2 The Bid Goes On
1964 C2's: 9 for sale, 4 sold, 2 The Bid Goes On
1963 C2's: 18 for sale, 5 sold, 4 The Bid Goes On
I'd love to get my hands on the raw Mecum data. [Data Nerd. ] And, what's with the 1966 C2 owners? 13 The Bid Goes On? The market gives you your price, not your head.

67 = 29.7%
66 = 32.0%
65 = 52.9%
64 = 44.4%
63 = 27.7 %

Chuck, you should also be careful of those "Bid Goes On" cars, as they were on reserve, and the house is allowed to bid it up to near the reserve. It is very possible there was little to no money in the bids that got it up there. I remember seeing the car on the dock as the bidding was happening, and they never showed anyone bidding or the owner standing by the grinder to allow the reserve to be lifted. So not sure that price means anything at all.

WAY out of my price range. I do know that the house can "chandelier bid" a car up close to reserve.
Regardless............with the auction being over, I'm sure that the car is on its' way back to the Las Vegas area...

C1 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
Sorry, I think that is a ridiculous price for any resto corvette and thought those heady days from a few years back were gone. Just my $.02. Nice car, but ridiculous price.
On the other hand, I saw at least a half dozen stock or restored C1's and C2's sell for less than I thought they would. That red 62 owned by a former NCRS judge looked like a good buy in the $70's, compared to most of the crap I see on the internet.
