Of course, I will start with the Corvettes as to properly connect this thread with the Forum.

If I was the Owner of this burgundy car, I would sue the TV announcers!

For those that didn't see, as it came up, the Commentator starts taking as to when you see custom front ends, this was a result of usually an accident!

Just as flared wheel openings are are indication of a tire blow out.

Thanks for pics. I watched most if not all of the episodes.
I went in 2009 to the Palm Springs BJ. Great time!

Love the maroon 63 with flares and the rear spoiler. I had a 63 coupe with flares , bought for 3k, sold years later for 2500. ( they depreciated decades back ) Kept a few good parts but too many around to entertain the cost of removing the flares which closed minds like mine thought taboo. Never came across another, just the stock versions. Now they are in vogue and probably higher valued in some cases. Cute plate " TIME2SPLT " . Great pictures. The Jag with the side opening trunk, never saw that before. White 58 Vette beyond perfection. With 367 Corvettes on the block there should have been some buys that didn't reach reserve.

From what I have read...... values were down. Your opinion on what you viewed ?

Would it be too much to ask for a separate thread when you get the 308 home? After you call Higgins? Would like to see more and hear your driving impressions

There is something about a Ferrari that makes an old man young, an ugly man attractive, a poor man rich and a driver a mechanic.

Congrats on the purchase, they are fun to drive!

Thanks for posting these photos! I very much enjoy seeing these, the view from the TV camera man just isn't the same.

Enjoy the hell out of that 308, those are the last of the fun-to-drive analog Enzo-era cars.

You've started an affair you'll never forget with a sexy Italian; I've had seven of them over the years. Here's my '85 308GTS/QV - one of my favorites.

Interesting question. From a Corvette standpoint, my impression was that some cars seemed high earlier in the week. The maroon '63 is an interesting example, as it went for $66k with premium, which is pretty strong for a car that many people would determine valuation by subtracting the expense of removing the flares, '67 hood, custom scoops, engine and interior changes and tail spoiler. If I bought that car, I think the only change Id make is switch to a '63 hood to keep it more '63 specific and stick with the remaining body changes as a cool '70s era style custom that I grew up with. But that sale is pretty strong considering it needed some attention. The picture I posted of the '70 LT-1 sale was breathtaking... I cannot imagine that car being worth $185k in any context, but maybe Im missing something. It seemed some of the higher end stock cars had a value "plateau" but I've always felt that Corvettes don't usually go crazy at B/J as there's enough information and experts out there on values that most people are pretty informed. It did seem that many of the mid range cars were reasonably strong, though and many others seemed right around the money. That's just my opinion and regarding the cars I saw. I'd like to ask Roy Sinor this question. I cannot comment on the restomods as Im not qualified to, and I don't know how much a certain car cost to build vs sale price. Also, all the Corvettes did in fact sell, I believe as only 3 cars out of 1800+ had a reserve. The others were all no-reserve. So, a peek at the B/J site will tell a better story regarding sales and value.

That's a great idea, Benton. I'll start a thread in "Other Cars" and talk about being a rookie spaghetti car owner.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I wasn't sure what kind of response Id get on a Ferrari purchase in a Corvette group, but I think people just like cool old cars!

I was telling the guys at work I would have bought the split window and returned the body to stock. What did it sell for 55k? Half of what it could have brought.

Beautiful! Here's my 328, in Rosso Corsa w/Crema interior. I like the earlier cars like yours with the toggle switches. Much more analog/visceral driving experience.
