It’s been round after round of “surprises”. Many previous fiberglass repairs that needed to be redone, wrong cam installed into “rebuilt” engine, FI unit toast (beautifully rebuilt/restored by Ken Hanson), wrong color paint by previous shop, painted without “fitting” doors or headlight buckets, fender lips cracked and unfinished, stress cracks in hood, dented headlight bezels, body lines like ocean waves, etc., etc.,(so total repairs/shape/block/repaint).

Was that the car in NC for $14K on Craigslist? The owner mentioned someone in Texas had first refusal. Was his dads car since new. Just curious.

I was going to say all the hard stuff are done, until you piped up with having frame, body and paint issues...
Looks like a very cool find, though, especially if all the parts are there. What do you have to redo?

hood, exhaust panel, headlight buckets and bezels need paint; matching will be the tricky part.
Previous body repairs appear ok on top, need finishing underneath.
will not know fit of doors, hood, bumpers, etc. until frame repaired and body reinstalled.
frame has had rust repairs at both rear frame rails/end caps(decent)
car had been hit hard on right rear, “repaired”(poorly), planning on replacing both kick ups and some of the brackets and cage nut locations that were “jacked” with by previous repair attempt.
if, if, all above goes well, then gauges restored, new wiring harnesses, new rubber, rebuild headlight assemblies(might go Detroit Speed), break in newly rebuilt engine, go through FI unit(might send to Jerry Bramlett), assemble everything.
whew, lots of hours ahead.

Frame issues addressed and body on/squared away---Yea!
Continuing cut/buff, prepping pieces needing paint.
Awaiting delivery of new wiring harnesses, fuel tank assembly, exhaust system, glass and molding clips, etc., etc..
Vent window assemblies "missing"---may be shopping for these if not recovered from previous shop; please let me know if anyone has a set.
Later,
G

C2 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I have a friend with a set of original fiberglass headlight buckets that he took out of his split window that he is building a resto mod. Around ser#9000. They changed around serial number 17 or 18,000 still fiberglass but a different design from what he has. I see yours are the metal replacements.
