[C2] 1966 327 power-glide K19 California convertible restoration
#27
here is why the tank sticker was not there, its been in a rear end fender bender at some point.
frame shows some repair too, guess the tank came out for that and nobody thought it was important

'Well, jumped the gun a bit with the below post, assumed you were the owner. Didn't realize until reading further posts that you'll be restoring the car for the owner. But in any event, enjoy the restoration as I'm sure he (or she) will enjoy the restored car!!! Best to both of you!!!
I predict you're gonna love it!! I sold my 4-speed coupe and kept my '66 PG convertible because I enjoy driving it so much! Mine started in much worse shape than yours, and I restored it over a period of years. Had to do quite a bit of searching for it 40 or so years ago, as you said not many PG cars order in comparison to 4-speeds, but they've become more in demand as the years have gone on.
Mine is also a more limited production model with the PG, two top convertible, and Mosport green exterior paint. Wasn't sure I'd like the color (I changed the dark blue that someone had on it when I acquired the car), but Mosport was the original trim tag color and I decided to go back with it. Absolute love it, a one year color that attracts a lot of attention in part I think due to its limited production.
Enjoy your new acquisition!!!! I'm sure you will . . . . . . '
Ron looks good, that is a color i haven't seen before.

66 NEVER had tank stickers. So that’s why it wasn’t there. Good looking project.

#1111117 turns out to be the correct distributor for this car, there was discussion on other threads if it even existed, but for a powerglide car in 66 with K19 option on HR code engine it is correct

i have figured out CE stands for factory replacement chevrolet engine, could have been warranty or bought through parts. going by the date codes it was changed out way back when.
going on the info i found if the 3rd and 4th digit are number then letter its made in 60's
if the 3rd and 4th digit are letter then number its 70's
so that would make this a 1964 factory replacement engine, someone got lucky on finding a older replacement, or they blew it up early in the warranty period.

If the owner wants to make the car all stock with matching numbers, I have an original K19 carburetor that is dated 3rd week of December 1965. These are hard to find and not cheap, but I do have one that is complete that would need a rebuild.
