1966 327 power-glide K19 California convertible restoration
Hi everyone,
This is my first corvette restoration, so feel free to give all the helpful advice you can.
now onto the car story. it was brought to me from California, it is a true 1966 K19 smog emissions car, most parts are still there, carb missing. according to tag it was originally a silver car.
i know its not super expensive optioned corvette, but i would like to know how rare it really is.
according to my research only 2,401 cars came with automatic transmission
only 8,463 of the 17,762 convertibles came with factory hardtop
only 2,967 cars were silver
dont know how to figure all those combinations, but having the K19 option before emissions were standard has to drop that way down.
here are some pictures of how car arrived to me

Well, jumped the gun a bit with the below post, assumed you were the owner. Didn't realize until reading further posts that you'll be restoring the car for the owner. But in any event, enjoy the restoration as I'm sure he (or she) will enjoy the restored car!!! Best to both of you!!!
I predict you're gonna love it!! I sold my 4-speed coupe and kept my '66 PG convertible because I enjoy driving it so much! Mine started in much worse shape than yours, and I restored it over a period of years. Had to do quite a bit of searching for it 40 or so years ago, as you said not many PG cars order in comparison to 4-speeds, but they've become more in demand as the years have gone on.
Mine is also a more limited production model with the PG, two top convertible, and Mosport green exterior paint. Wasn't sure I'd like the color (I changed the dark blue that someone had on it when I acquired the car), but Mosport was the original trim tag color and I decided to go back with it. Absolute love it, a one year color that attracts a lot of attention in part I think due to its limited production.
Enjoy your new acquisition!!!! I'm sure you will . . . . . .
