Default 65 Idler Pulley Question

My 65 L79 with no power options does not have an idler pulley. From what I’ve read, the 365 hp vettes had them in 65. My question is, did they come on the 350 hp cars in 65? I have a v belt that goes from the water pump to the crank shaft. I’ve been doing some work on it and want to get it right. Thank you, Chris.

I thought I remembered no idler on L79s, but I broke out the 1965 NCRS Judging Guidebook and it shows the same idler on the L79 as on the L76. This is according to the pulley table on page 161.

Edit: To the contrary, page 164 states that: "It is doubtful that the L79 engine was equipped with an idler assembly. Research is ongoing."

Clear as mud, right?

As I recall only the solid lifter engines got the idler.
