C2 Tires revisited
I’m looking to get a set of P205/75R15 tires. I want narrow white wall. The last set I got was the Cooper Trendsetter II with a 3/4” white wall. I’ve been happy with them, but a couple of them were a little difficult to balance.
At the time I bought them (about 3 years ago) the only other reasonably priced narrow white wall in that size I could fine was from Hankook. I didn’t like the looks of the Hankook sidewalls.
I was lookin again today and ran across The Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II in the size and looks like a nice narrow white wall.
Has as anyone bought the Uniroyal lately, and if so, what’s your impression.
By the way, yes I’m aware that Coker make a nice looking radial, but I don’t want to spend $250 a tire when I can get a serviceable set of four for $300.

There have been a few threads on here about tires and the Uniroyal Tiger Paw is one that from those who have bought them feel they are one of the better options. I seem to recall that someone heard that they were going to quit making them, but I know you can still find them fairly easily. May not be anything to that rumor. I recently researched several as well and the Tiger Paw will be my choice when I need new tires.

I just put on the same tire Cooper Trendsetter II and i will agree with you regarding balancing. It required a great deal of weight to balance, really not a great sign. However they are on the car and the drive is good, so no complaints. Also the 3/4" whitewall in my opinion looks better than the Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP.

I put the Uniroyal tiger paw awp II’s on my ‘64 fuelie last year. They were easy to balance and took few weights to do it. They run quiet and smooth. Besides they were inexpensive for driver tires.

How much weight are we talking? I went out and looked at my cooper P215/70r15's on my '65 and it must be luck of the draw, best was .5 oz, worst was 1 3/4 oz.
I too wanted an appropriate looking tread/white wall. Have always had radials on this car so I think the bicycle tires change the stance of the car to not what I'm used to.
Running another set on another white wall era pickup, have been happy with them. Mine all age out before wearing out.

Matter of taste, I guess. I don't like the busy sidewall on the Uniroyal. Hankook's look good and sell for $60. The Cooper's have the look I prefer. But, that's why they make different brands and types. What do you think about the TOYO? Diamondback told me they are using TOYO's to replace the Michelin 205/75-r15 when they make a redline tire in that size.

Coincidently I just picked up a set yesterday. The Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II in size 215-70R15 $62 each with free shipping from walmart. All four are dated 3rd week November 2018. No issues mounting and balancing.

I see you selected the 215/70R 15's instead of the 205/75R 15's. Can you share why you went this way? Any issues expected or adjusted for? Thanks.

The redlines on my wheels were that size. Never had any rubbing with them so I stuck with it.
