Gloss Black % On Pulleys
I’m getting ready to powder coat my pulleys and
Alternator/PS brackets and was wondering what percentage of gloss black is correct.

Thanks

I don't know what the "percentage" of gloss is, but it's between semi-gloss and semi-flat; closer to semi-flat. Those parts were originally "flow-coated" with black primer, much like dip-priming. You DON'T want them "glossy".

this is what I have found to be the best for things like pulleys and underhood parts. It is a lacquer paint so is easy to spray and covers well. I have only found it online at Global Industrial. Years ago you could buy it at Walmart or other stores but I haven't seen it on the shelves for years. They sell semi flat Krylon but it isn't the same

SEM Trim Black also approximates the correct gloss, and it's lacquer-based.

Yeah...the Trim Black is a 20% gloss. And it's good stuff that stays on, too. Even on non-primed chrome parts.
