Great video Just nice to see them being driven. Not sure about the wisdom of driving them in that kind of weather.

I've seen Grand Sport 002 run numerous times at the Simeone, but I've never seen them run it in any kind of inclement weather. They'll take other cars out in bad weather, but they usually only drive the rarer cars, when the weather is good!
The Simeone Foundation Museum is located in South Philly, not far from the airport. The museum consists of about 70 sports and racing cars, many with significant racing history. The collection belongs to Dr Fred Simeone, a surgeon from Philadelphia. The museum hosts monthly "Demo Days" where they pick a theme, and pull 3 or 4 cars from their displays, related to that theme, and run them on the 3 acre lot behind the museum. Before running the cars, the Doctor will spend about an hour going over the history of each demo day car, and answering questions. Besides the permanent collection of cars owned by the Doctor, they often have changing displays of privately owned cars, and other special events.
Grand Sport 002 was last raced in 1966, by George Wintersteen, and is unrestored and still in the same "as raced" paint and condition, as when George Wintersteen last raced it in 1966. Wintersteen lives in the Philadelphia area, and I've been at a Demo Day when Wintersteen showed up and drove his old Grand Sport.
Anyone in the Philadelphia area that loves cars, especially old race cars, should make a point to visit the Simeone Museum. Even if you can't make it on a Demo Day, it's still worth the visit.

Great video, thanks for posting! Seems strange to see it run in that kind of weather, but fun to see it get a little “twitchy” on acceleration!

As gbvette62 said the Simeone Museum is worth a visit. I was there a couple of years ago. It was a slow day, not may visitors. I was staring at the 917 Porsche LH and one of the workers took me behind the ropes and let me look at it up close. While I didn't have the nerve to ask to sit in it (it looked very light and therefore fragile) I did stick my head in the cockpit. An amazing race car that had to have no margin for error. You really have to admire the fearlessness of those race car drivers.

Wow. Thanks for posting....what I am most bummed about is I lived in the backyard of the museum for some time and never made my way there...It's really fantastic that Dr. Simeone has collected these cars and is sharing them with the public. I hope that in future years, this continues.

Whoops, almost lost it …. Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix 2009 … not a real one
but, this one Chassis #004 is - Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion 2013 - Driver Bruce Canepa
The Red #40 Vette is owned by Joe Calleja - Driver John Bowe who's no slouch behind the wheel
Best Vette racing vid you'll ever see
https://revsinstitute.org/racing/ico...ports-reunion/
Chassis #005 owned by Bill Tower …. Vince Piggins was Head of Performance for Chevrolet and used the COPO system to tag parts for non highway use to unofficially support the race teams.
and … original GS Build Specs

I hope LANCE MILLER can get all the owners to bring all 5 GRAND SPORTS to CORVETTES OF CARLISLE ''RACE CAR REUNION'' on August 21-25, 2019 weekend. Every five years Carlisle hosts CORVETTE RACE cars under special tent.
We all have to keep having fun. Thanks for posting this great video tribute videos.

ORIGINAL 1963 Corvette Grand Sport Driving @ Simeone Museum by George Wintersteen
DtRockstar1 records an extremely rare and valuable 1963 Corvette Grand Sport driving around at the Simeone Museum by George Wintersteen, former owner and driver of this car. 1 of 5 made, this is one of the most desirable Corvettes.

I built the diff and box for one of the originals several years ago that was going to be raced. Interesting builds and I posted some pic's of them on NCRS and DC at the time.

I agree. I suspect they have sufficient staff to give those cars a good wipe down after their little run in the snow.
