with a fake trim tag it’s hard to say what body it started out as. Maybe it was sliced in half and used both.

And that trim tag is almost definitely a repo.

This car (with this VIN) was advertised a while back as a project car with a good body.

1967 Chevrolet Corvette STING RAY 1967 corvette sting ray conv body w/doors,hood and deck lid real RALLY RED!!! ..... VIN Number: WN72839089
I am surprised it didn't end up a resto-mod back when it was a project car. I am assuming it is titled in WA state. If it is, I would ask the seller to get a proper state issued VIN tag before considering it at all.

I am not convinced the Trim Tag itself is fake. Need better pics or to see in person. But it definitely has been reinstalled on the car in question. Did it belong to this car originally, or was it taken from another car?? Who knows at this point.

I believe (without evidence) that it is from another car, since it has been replaced and the Z-bar under it shows no repaint or other reason to require removal of the tag

Larry.

this is the one I removed from my 67 and was allowed to put a repo under the glove box where the original was removed. The CA was also removed. Dom

For that money, you can get a pretty nice car with it’s original tags.

Why would anyone buy this? It’s a documentation nightmare with some fast and loose sales verbiage. What could go wrong?

I would say to drive it if it was legal. NEVER found driving a vin tag exciting!!
