When seen on bright sunlight, some lighter colors seem washed out. And some of the darker colors don't always come to life. That green above, with the sun directly on it, just seems vibrant. IMHO it just instantly draws my gaze back for a second look.
As others have said, it's your car. Unless the wife has a huge problem with it, do what YOU want. If she DOES object, you're on your own. It's all we can do to figure these cars out, no way in the world can we understand women!

granted my opinion is not worth much, and lime rock green is a very nice color as is atomic orange, neither of those colors in my opinion look right on a Mid Year, now everyone of us who does not pray to the NCRS gods does something to personalize their ride. tires ,wheels, stinger hoods, and flairs, all because we believe it makes them look better, or its a precursor to engine and suspension changes, and its our personal taste . but the most important thing is to be able to live with the change, you can have the most beautiful paint and not be happy with it in the long haul, but your kinda stuck with it , unless you have deep pockets and can change it again. all I can say is whatever decision you make be sure this is truly what you want, no regrets.

Since you asked:: Lime Rock Green would not look good on your car in my opinion. Since your original color was Daytona Blue and you mentioned Viper Blue, here is a picture of my Viper GTS. The color is called Sapphire Blue. Great color and very close to your original color.

I don't know when Corvettes went from being a "fun car" to becoming a "rolling shrine".
Make it fun and campy if you like. I think the Lime Rock Green is an EXCELLENT color on just about any car. Your '63 would absolutely pop with it.
After all these years, I have to say I'm finally over-dosed on the 100% stock look of just about any 60's era muscle car. While I respect them and the work that went into them (I've built them myself) after a while I need something a little more fun, a little more period correct.
A few years ago I did a rotisserie on my 1968 Firebird 400 4 speed. Nut and bolt correct but then I added an big set of 50 series on the rear with air shocks to lift it a bit. Great period look and at shows it drew more people and thumbs up than the same car, bone stock.
Going the same direction with my '65 coupe. Period correct mags and a nice big set of 50's on the rear. Campy and fun, in the true spirit of what a Corvette used to be.
It works for me.
If you like the Lime Rock Green. Do It and see how many people are drawn to one '63 that's finally a little bit different.

If you'd like to compare the two; Daytona Blue and Sapphire Blue - side by side
.

[QUOTE=roadster65;1598989137]I'm not familiar with the colour palette offered by Chevrolet on their C2 Corvette for 1967 -
I believe this is what they call "Deep Forest Green"
This is a different car to the one in the picture above - same colour combo though
I believe it's Goodwood Green = fantastic color

Just another Corvette guy
I'm not saying I disagree with you on making a car your own, however comparing putting on a big set of rear tires and shocks to a C2 repaint to a non-standard color is NOT a fair comparison. Someone considering buying your Firebird would only need to spend a few hundred bucks to put it back to "stock", whereas someone looking at buying the '63 with that color change would be looking at thousands of dollars to go back to the correct color and more than likely take a pass on buying it.
Buttersvette said his his car is already NOM engine/trans car, so why not have a little fun with it?
I think the Atomic Orange '66 that 59BlueSilver posted is stunning. If it came up for sale, I think he'd have buyers lined up for that car.
Here is a crude photo-shop of a green similar to Lime Rock on a C2. I think it really works with the body lines.
If I saw this in traffic, I would probably crane my neck around and stare at it until I rear-ended the car in front of me!

I would go Lime Rock Green in a heartbeat. But then I’m a fan of green. Who gives a rat’s behind about what it might take to put it “back to stock”? I build a car for me. If I’m selling it and you don’t like it, you don’t need to buy it.
These cars are NOT investments. They are used cars. Buy them, enjoy them.

I think this would really "pop" accentuating the C2 Shape - nice with a light crème interior and matching top .. & whitewalls - GV

Mr. Trim,
You bring up an interesting point that I have thought about. I want the car to look original and I am putting it back that way. I just figured the engine is a replacement block and trans is not original so IF I ever sold it nobody would care if it was trim tag color. I have only owned it for a few months and new to the c2 game. Not sure or even thought about resale. I can see where the c7 green might defiantly detract buyers, but if it were painted a c2 corvette color would it matter much? The color was originally daytona blue with tan interior. I plan on going back to tan interior, it is black at the moment. I know Daytona is a beautiful color also, and maybe that is what I end up doing?

As others, including myself, have said, do what makes you happy. It's your car and your money. Im sure whatever you decide to do it will be spectacular. Looking forward to your final decision.

Green is good...
I had a '67 way back in the early '70's and it was originally Goodwood Green. But it had been hit in the front and totally repainted in the original color; then it got hit again so I bought it with the front end damage, repaired it and had it painted for the third time. However, I did not do it in Goodwood Green again. At that time--early '70s--GM had another dark green that they used on the Monte Carlos that had a little more "pop" than the Goodwood without being as "lime-y" as Lime Rock Green of 2014. With a little research, you should be able to come up with the name and trim code for that '70's green.

Get the right wheels on it to pull it off, a white (GM Summit) accent somewhere. Ralllyes dont do that color any favors
Maybe some 17s?
An awesome color is 68 Camaro Tripoli Turquoise. Marina like blue and bright aqua depending how the sun hits it.

Make sure you go look at one (it was a 2014 only color, so may be hard to find one). The color looks great in bright direct sun, other than that it looks nearly black. It's too dark for my taste. If I want green, I want it to look green in most lights. They did a Fairway Green Metallic in 1997 only and it's a nice color as well.

Not that its a horrible color, but there are so many better colors to choose from.

Butters, I like all greens. The ones you are looking at look good to me. I like goodwood green, but the c7 looks great. That '66 Tempest of yours is painted Barrier Blue, which was a 1966 model year only color....very unique....a lot of lavender in it. Sharp looking car.

I posted a thread a while back asking for members to help me pick a color and gave them these choices the most picked was the Lambo. If I had big enough ***** I would go with the BMW color in the sun wow you can see that color a mile away
