It isn't every day that you get the chance to buy a Barris original.

Beauty sure is in the eye of the beholder on that one. You'd have to wear a disguise driving it around....

As many of us know, those Corvette XP-700 style front ends were available in the aftermarket for many years, and numerous Corvettes were fitted with them - some had better jobs done on them than others. While the look hasn't aged particularly well, I remember in the 1960s when they were quite popular that they were considered quite stylish and a modern update for older Corvettes. I don't hate the front end look, but the rest of the car featured is pure Barris - with all the good & bad that goes with that. Certainly an acquired taste.

UGGGLY!
I going to go ahead and say what I THINK a lot of us think.
Like most of Barris's creations. He is only famous for his movie cars. I don't think if he had not had luck with THOSE cars he would likely not be remember at all. Not trying to dis the guy just the facts.

The bubble top, mirrors, side panel treatment and hooded headlights are appealing - but that nose ?
Its nothing short of nightmarish...
I'm betting that feature alone is why the driver can't talk the girl into getting in the car....

I think she is contemplating if she should even touch the car for fear of Cooties and she has GLOVES on.

This is somewhat tolerable if considering the build era but that Barris custom is a typical overdone over the top creation.
Barris' most famous custom IMCO is the Hirohata Merc which has aged well an is considered by many an iconic "kustom".
George's brother Sam was arguably the more talented craftsman but t's George who became "King of the Kustomizers".

When I was a teenager, I thought George Barris’ cars were the coolest thing around. But 60 years later as an old man, I look at that car and think to myself, “He ruined a perfectly good ‘58 Corvette”.
