Default Body Dolly Question - Is it Needed?

On a C1, is the body dolly under the front necessary? The radiator core support does not rest on it, so do I need it? Crawling under or over to get into the engine bay is taking far more time and energy than the work I am trying to do. Your input is appreciated.

Since it was going to be over a year to get it back on the frame, I supported front and back. I also made it considerably taller. It made it a lot easier to work underneath the body.

If rad core is not resting on it, then it's doing nothing but being in your way. I would want the front supported by something though. Jack stand?

You can remove the front section of your dolly for easier access to the engine compartment and just put a jack stand under the rad support if you want, but don't think its necessary.

Wish I would have done this. The commando crawl is not as easy as it used to be, and a ladder to step-stool over the nose is a bit dicey. I think it’s time for the sawzall and jack stands.
